I finished my antibiotics, but I am still having urinary symptoms
If you are still having urinary symptoms consistent with a UTI, it is possible that the bacteria causing your infection was resistant to the prescribed first-line antibiotic. This can sometimes happen; the best thing to do in this situation is to see a doctor in-person so a urine culture can be performed.
Unfortunately we do not have the ability to perform urine cultures via telemedicine. The urine culture will take a couple days, but it will help determine the most effective treatment for your more difficult to treat UTI. We recommend making an appointment with your primary care provider or going to an urgent care clinic.
