What does the Scanwell UTI test kit screen for?
When seeking in-person treatment for a UTI, your doctor will most likely perform a urine dipstick. Your doctor does this to screen for leukocytes and nitrites in your urine, which are two of the main indicators of a UTI.
Scanwell's UTI test strips are the same as those used in hospitals, doctor's offices, urgent care and emergency rooms. Scanwell also tests for leukocytes and nitrites, and has the same diagnostic accuracy as a urinalysis (urine dipstick) performed in a clinic. This is not the same test as a urine culture, which may be required in some cases before treatment.
